Data strategy workshop for nonprofits
Every nonprofit collects data, but is your organization making the most of it?
Nonprofits with expert-level data management are able to improve the quality of their services, optimize their operations, and better communicate with their boards and funders.
We work with nonprofits that want the improvements that come with expert-level data management. It doesn’t matter if you’re not a data person, or you feel like you’re starting from scratch.
Our data strategy workshop is the starting point for understanding your data and using it to make better decisions.

This three-hour, interactive workshop is designed for program managers, social workers, and executive leadership where we walk through many components of a data strategy, including:
- Identifying the data you already collect
- Documenting how you collect and report data
- Defining key terms and fields
- Documenting ideas for improvement to systems, processes, and data
Participants should come to the workshop prepared to discuss the data they collect and report, as well as how their data is stored, and challenges they face with data.
After the workshop, we will deliver a comprehensive data strategy assessment that includes:
- Templates for data inventory, process diagrams, and a data dictionary (populated with information collected during the workshop)
- A list of improvements that has been prioritized by your team
- A SWOT assessment of your data operation
- Recommendations for next steps
This workshop is designed for up to 12 participants, and we provide three instructors for small group facilitation.

Carly has an excellent way of explaining concepts in a way that very much relates to the non-profit world. She was an excellent guide through this program and definitely the most helpful part. 🙂

It's been helpful to go through the process of breaking down data; it has helped me to think about data differently and what things are important to keep in mind.
